On 20 September 2008 Rovers travelled south to Somerset to take on Yeovil Town in a League One match. This was Rovers' eighth league game of the season, and their tenth in all competitions.
There were two changes to the starting eleven, with Jeff Hughes missing out through injury and being replaced by Craig Disley, and Darryl Duffy was included after being left on the bench for the last game. Jo Kuffour was the player that made way for him. On the bench, Byron Anthony celebrated his 24th birthday by returning from his suspension, but he was not involved in the action on the day.
During the game Yeovil twice had a one goal lead, and twice Rovers equalised, earning a single league point. Rovers' second was scored by substitute Jo Kuffour, which was his first goal for Rovers and came just three minutes after coming on as a substitute.
