11 January 2008 saw Rovers travel north to face Tranmere Rovers in a Friday evening fixture. It was their first league game for a fortnight, having faced Premier League side Fulham in the FA Cup third round the previous week.

Tranmere Rovers v Bristol Rovers[]

Rovers headed up to Merseyside on the back of two straight league wins and a draw against Premier League side Fulham in the FA Cup. Stuart Campbell was available for selection again, having previously been suspended, and was included in the starting eleven. The Tranmere starting lineup included former Gas player Gareth Taylor and on-loan Bristol City player Jennison Myrie-Williams.

A goal in each half earned Bristol Rovers a 2-0 victory, and moved the team up to 16th place in the league, easing them further away from the relegation zone.
