Ryan Brunt is a forward who was signed from Stoke City by manager John Ward during the January 2013 transfer window.
He immediately found himself in the starting eleven, making his debut in a 3–1 victory over Rotherham United on 26 January. Six days later he made his home debut in a Friday night League Two fixture against Barnet. In an eventful climax to the match, Brunt scored his first goal for The Gas, a 93rd-minute winner, earning what seemed an unlikely 2–1 victory after Barnet had equalised in the 90th minute.
Career[]
Ryan began his professional career with Stoke City, graduating into their professional ranks from the youth setup in 2011, having previously also played academy football with Bristol City. In November that year, having barely played any football in the previous twelve months due to a cruciate ligament injury, he joined Northern Premier League side Nantwich Town on loan, making his senior debut in an FA Cup clash with the Milton Keynes Dons, but that would be the extent of his time with The Dabbers, as he was recalled by Stoke later in the week. Further loans to Luton Town and Tranmere Rovers followed that season, and early in the 2012–13 campaign he joined Leyton Orient on a six-month loan deal.
After returning to Stoke from The Os he was signed by Bristol Rovers, where he signed a 2½-year contract.
