Rune Johansen, now known as Rune Berger, was a forward player who had a month's loan at Rovers towards the end of the year 2000. He joined from Norwegian club Tromsø, and during his month at the club played in three games - twice making substitute appearances in the league, a 0-0 draw with Walsall and 1-0 defeat to Wrexham, and started one game in the FA Cup, a 5-1 defeat to Cardiff City. He did not score any goals for the Pirates.
Career[]
Rune started his footballing career with his home town club, Tromsø. He spent six years there, during which he had loan spells with Rovers and Alta. In 2003 he moved to Aalesund, where he stayed for to years before heading back to Tromsø in 2005. After retiring from playing he joined the coaching staff at one of his old teams, Alta.
