Rik Lopez was signed on a month-to-month contract in August 2001 to bolster the defensive line. He played as a full-back, and made eight appearances in Division Three and one in the FA Cup for Rovers during the 2001–02 season before being released by new manager Ray Graydon in 2002.
Career[]
Rik started out as a youth player with Arsenal, before being released and joining the junior ranks at Queens Park Rangers in 1997. He spent three years at QPR without getting any first team action, and from 2000 to 2001 he found himself in the same situation at Watford. After being released by The Hornets he was picked up by then-Rovers manager Gerry Francis, but after three changes in management in less that a year he found himself surplus to requirements at the Memorial Stadium and was released.
