Oliver Norburn first joined Rovers on loan from Leicester City in September 2011 on what was initially a one-month deal, though this was later extended to three months. The midfielder was brought in to provide backup following an injury to Matt Gill, and was named on the bench for the majority of games during his three-month stint.
He made his debut on 14 October 2011, coming on for the final four minutes of the 5–2 victory over Rotherham United in place of Stuart Campbell, and went on to make a total of 5 league appearances. Four of these were as substitute, and just one was from the start of the game. He was an unused substitute six times.
He made a return to the club in July 2012, when he was signed by Rovers on a one-year contract.
Career[]
After starting out in the Chelsea youth system he moved to Leicester City, who offered him his first professional contract in 2011. He joined Rovers in September that year, where he made his debut in senior football.
