Mitch Harding, who can play as both a centre forward or centre half, signed his first professional contract at the beginning of May 2012, shortly before making his debut for the club in the 4–0 defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge on 5 May 2012, coming on as a 73rd-minute replacement for fellow youth team graduate Eliot Richards.
His first full season as a professional saw him loaned out to Conference North side Gloucester City, where he impressed enough for the initial month-long deal to be extended for a second month. Following his return to Bristol he was included amongst the Rovers substitutes twelve times before the end of the campaign, and was brought on in five of those matches.
His full debut for the club came in the first game of the 2013–14 season, a 2–1 defeat to Exeter City, when he started up front alongside David Clarkson.
Career[]
Mitch spent some time working with North Somerset Football Development before joining up with the Bristol Rovers Centre of Excellence, and was offered his first professional contract on 4 May 2012.
He was sent out initially on a month-long loan, later extended to a second month, to Gloucester City at the beginning of October 2012, along with teammate and fellow first-year professional Jordan Goddard. Both men made an immediate impact on The Tigers, both scoring on their debut for the club.
The pair were recalled by Rovers early at Gloucester's request due to The Tigers having a spell of seventeen days without a match. The maximum length of loan permitted by league rules was 93 days, so manager David Mehew decided it was sensible to cancel the loans, allowing them to return for longer than would otherwise have been possible later on in the season.
