Darren Mullings is a midfielder who came through the Rovers youth ranks. While at Filton College he played for both England Schoolboys Under-18s and England Colleges Under-19s in the same season. After being awarded his first pro contract by Rovers in 2005 he spent two years at the Memorial Stadium, but only made four substitute appearances for the club.
Career[]
Darren made four league appearances for Rovers, all from the substitutes bench in his first year at the Mem. He didn't made it on to the pitch for Rovers at all in the 2006-07 season, although he had a loan spell at Clevedon Town during this period. He was released in the summer of 2007, when he was picked up by Torquay United. He remained at Torquay for a single season, during which he had a loan spell at Tiverton Town, before being released in 2008 and picked up by Weston-super-Mare. He joined Gloucester City in 2010, having spent two years in Weston.
After two years as a first choice midfielder for The Tigers, Darren was forced to miss six months of the 2012–13 season while recovering from shoulder surgery to correct a long-standing problem. After making a single appearance for Gloucester following his lengthy lay-off, he was sent out on loan to Southern League side Chippenham Town to get some first team football under his belt and to regain his fitness and confidence.
