Charlie Reece is a product of the youth setup at Bristol Rovers, being a graduate of the Bristol Academy of Sport. He plays as a midfielder, and made his first-team debut against Carlisle United on 29 December 2007, when he came on as a substitute for Sammy Igoe late in the game.

While at Rovers Charlie was sent out on loan to Solihull Moors during the 2008–09 season in order to gain some first team experience, and after that found himself playing a more active role in the first team. He remained a fringe player for the next two years however and in the summer of 2011 he was told that he was free to leave if he could find another club to join. Such was the emphatic nature of manager Paul Buckle's decision, he wasn't even allocated a squad number for the 2011–12 season. He was eventually taken on a month's loan by Gloucester City on 20 October 2011 and the deal was later extended to a second month. He played twelve times and scored twice in all competitions, alongside former Rovers men Darren Mullings and Ben Hunt before returning to Bristol at the end of December.

He was loaned out again at the end of January 2012, this time to Tamworth who were managed by former Rovers goalkeeper Marcus Law. He played seven times in the Conference before returning to Bristol in late March. With his contract up in the summer of 2012 it wasn't a surprise when he found himself released by the club, given how the season had gone, and even though there had been a change of management, it wasn't enough to save him from the chop.

Career[]

After beginning his career at Rovers, Charlie had loan spells with Solihull Moors, Gloucester City and Tamworth before being released in 2012. He managed to earn a year-long deal with Worcester City in July 2012.
