Rovers fell to a lucklustre 3–1 defeat at the hands of Cheltenham Town in a game that also saw mounting injury problems for the Gas.
The woes began as early as the second minute of the game, when Danny Woodards was stretchered off and replaced by Michael Smith. Kaid Mohamed skipped through the Rovers back four with 36 minutes on the clock to net an impressive solo goal before Luke Summerfield and James Spencer scored either side of the break to make it 3–0 to The Robins. The Pirates did manage a consolation goal thanks to a deflected long-range shot from Lee Brown, but there was to be no comeback when substitute Wayne Brown was stretchered off with nine minutes left on the clock, reducing Rovers to ten men for the remainder of the game.
Cheltenham included two former Rovers players in their starting eleven: midfielder Josh Low and defender Steve Elliott. They were joined in the first minute of added time at the end of the match by Darryl Duffy, who came on as a substitute for goalscorer Kaid Mohamed.
