Alexandre Jeannin, known as Alex, is a defender who had an extremely brief spell at Rovers at the end of the 2004-05 season. He was one of three players signed at the very end of the season, along with Jefferson Louis and Louie Soares, and he made just one appearance for the Pirates, a 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers on the last day of the season.

Just over a month after joining Rovers, he signed for Hereford United on a free transfer.

Career[]

Alex began his footballing career in his home nation of France, starting out at his home town club Troyes. He made two league appearances for Troyes before leaving to join RCF Paris, for whom he played 29 league games in the 1999-00 season. Following this he re-joined Troyes, but only played a single league game for them. At this point he tried crossing the English Channel for the first time for a short spell at Darlington before heading back to France to join RCS La Chapelle. In 2003 he moved back to England, where he signed for Exeter City, followed by Bristol Rovers, Hereford United and Oxford United, where he was also loaned out to Kidderminster Harriers. In 2008 he signed a one-year deal with Mansfield Town, before being released the following summer.

He joined Truro City on trial in July 2009, but suffered a broken leg in a friendly against Bridgend, causing him to have to sit out the whole of the 2009–10 season. He was eventually signed by Truro in July 2010, and spent the whole of the 2010–11 campaign with them. In the summer of 2011 he joined ambitious Southern League side Bideford, but although he began the season playing in the first team he left after finding himself out of the starting lineup, signing for Weymouth in December the same year.

He remained with Weymouth at the beginning of the 2012–13 season, but left the club in October 2012, moving to Taunton Town.
