John Ward's second spell as Bristol Rovers manager began with a 2–2 draw at Aldershot Town.
A first half goal from Michael Hector gave Aldershot the lead at the break, and after each side won a penalty in the second half, converted by David Clarkson and Craig Reid, substitute Eliot Richards grabbed a late equaliser with an 87th-minute strike.
